How can Family Papers
actually locate my family’s papers?

The process is surprisingly simple.

We have developed a unique data base containing thousands of names; names of ancestors we are looking for and the names of people listed in our extensive archive of vintage documents. We add to this data base every day. Family Papers also examines thousands of documents offered to us every month and compare names on those documents against the names of ancestors currently in our Ancestral Registry.

Additionally, Family Papers conducts multiple/on-going searches, throughout the year, with established paper ephemera dealers, specifically looking for documents pertaining to the ancestors contained in our Registry.

When a document is located, you will then be notified and given the opportunity to purchase and preserve this authentic family heirloom for future generations.

It’s that simple!

One question we are often asked is how much will a document cost. Unfortunately, there is no simple answer. We expect most documents to to be under $500, we are hoping to find many between $150 and $250. However, on Family Papers does not restrict its search based on price. Customers are under no obligation to purchase a document when one is located.

Some of the factors which affect a document's cost include the notoriety of the ancestor we are looking for or what other person may be mentioned or may have signed a document. For example; a Revolutionary War pay warrant should cost between $200-$300. But a Revolutionary War discharge, signed by George Washington (yes, there out there!) could cost between $10,000-$12,000. We don't know in advance what we are going to find. Hopefully that helps provide some perspective on cost.
